Story
Vietnam is expected to become a new production hub of the world as “Made in Vietnam” products are winning larger shares in the international market. last year, Vietnam enjoyed good results in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction, and drew hundreds of millions of USD right in the beginning of 2022, which showed the strong confidence of investors, including many giant firms such as Foxconn, Pegatron, Wistron, LEGO and Nike, in the country's economic prospects. Vietnam earned a record amount of 57.54 billion USD from exporting telephones and accessories in 2021, a rise of 12.4 percent year on year, and a 25-fold increase from the 2.3 billion USD recorded in 2010. As of the end of 2021, Samsung had invested 18 billion USD in Vietnam. Currently, more than 50 percent of Samsung’s cell phones are produced in Vietnam. Smart mobile devices manufactured in Vietnam are being exported to 128 countries and territories in the world.
The transportation of the high-end products such as smartphone, laptop,
and other digital devices from factories in industrial parks in the North,
Central and South of Vietnam to the international airports in those regions
by fueled container trucks, then exporting the global market is the key
transportation mode currently. It creates heavy pollution in the
environment. Drone delivery will be a good alternative and the future
transportation mode as logistics drones have the exciting possibility to help
reduce logistics and delivery congestion on our roads in a sustainable,
eco-friendly, zero emission way cutting emissions by up to 47% when
compared to light commercial vehicles.
But drones will need vertiport as the key component in providing
infrastructure for landing, recharging, and taking off with cargo. This
development is critical step to deliver high speed, affordable, emissions-
free transportation of cargo and passenger in Vietnam’s key urban and
industrial regions.
In the first phase of the development of the vertiports in inland Vietnam, the main work includes:
- studying the logistics market
- scanning and selecting the right location in pre-defined cities and provinces in the North, Central and the South Vietnam used for the first 12 vertiports
- getting the permission from local authorities to build the first ones
- design, construction and test of the vertiport
- setting up the whole operational team

Development model
Shared Infrastructure
Vertiport are shared to use by different service providers and customers.
Shared Investment
Vertiports are co-invested by different organizations in different options.
Shared Benefit
Environmental and economic benefits go together.
Investment consultant
OpenPass, a provider of investment management and fiduciary services to investors is the investment consultant of this project. The service covers the design of investment options, selection of vendors and fundraising.
Collaboration
The development team will collaborate in market study, selecting vertiport locations, get permission from local authorities to build vertiports, designing and constructing the vertiport facilities as well as the operation and maintenance of the vertiports for passenger and cargo transportation service.
